Born in Ankara in 1972, İnci Mutlu graduated from the Industrial Design Department of METU. After finishing her Master’s Degree at Hacettepe University, she attended many workshops at the Domus Academy in Milan. She worked as a freelance designer in Istanbul between 1998 and 2000 and worked at Isao Hosoe Design Studio for a while.
After her move to Milan, Mutlu cofounded Mutlu & Milano Design Studio with Luca Milano. The first furniture ‘Kissing Chair’ Mutlu designed in 1996, won first prize at a national competition she participated. Mutlu’s designs were exhibited in major fairs abroad and she also won first place with the electric meter ‘Watt Bug’ at the Viridian Design Competition. Mutlu has been published in The New York Times, The Wired.
